Day 1- The Drive

One cold, snowy January day, we impulsively booked a Spring Break trip to Anna Maria Island in Florida. Our good friends have vacationed here for years a suggested we rent a house and join them.  So that's just what we did. 

Fast forward to Friday, April 4. We left at noon for our 20 hour drive to warm, sunny paradise. I was nervous about how the kids would do in the car for that long. We drove for 9 hours (with one stop at the Waffle House for dinner) on Friday and then decided to stop for the night south of Nashville. Will and Erin had a lot of fun running up and down the halls. Thankfully, we were on a floor with 100 high school seniors who were on a class trip so our kids didn't disturb anyone. Will slept with Mark and Erin slept with me. We've never done this before and they sure move a lot when they are sleeping! We were back on the road at 5:20 am. Day 1 was a success!
