Go Green! Go White!

Will has been asking to go see a football game at Michigan State. We've been watching for good weather and decided last Saturday would be a perfect day to tailgate. It was also the MSU vs U of M game. Sparty kicked butt and won!
We told the kids that the rules were that they could only go to a football game when they were 6. They both seemed okay with the MSU rule. So instead, we spent a few hours walking around campus and visiting friends and their tailgates.
The weather was 60' and sunny, a perfect fall afternoon. The kids were excited to see Sparty riding on a golf cart (even though Will cried when we were leaving because he didn't get to give Sparty a high-five).
We also got to see the football team as they were headed into the Stadium. They were all dressed in their warm-ups and football helmets. We heard the drumline practice (Will plugged his ears the whole town because he said it was too loud).
The quote of the day came from Erin. We were walking past the library and I told the kids that was the library.
Out of no where Erin said, "football players don't go to the library. That would be silly!"  Mark and I had a good laugh at that one.
The kids have an MSU boardbook. It shows some of the highlights of MSU. On Saturday, we were able to show the kids some of the things from the book.
After we were finished tailgating/touring campus, we went to cousin Eric and Julie's house to watch the game. It was fun spending time with them. Eric's been giving me a hard time because of my lack of blogging. I appreciated (and need) the prodding to get moving on my blog again. Eric, I hope you enjoyed the blog entry. 😉

It was a perfect fall afternoon. I had fun showing the kids my almamatter. Go Green!
